Inserting personalization tags into your direct and automated campaigns can increase engagement and improve a contact’s experience with your brand. Depending on your plan level, you can personalize campaigns with contact, deal, or account information. Once the message is sent to the contact, the tag you inserted will be replaced by a value specific to the recipient. When the contact receives your message, they will see information specific to them. Personalize a campaign created with the Email Designer The Email Designer uses drag-and-drop structures and blocks that you can use to create your direct and automated campaigns. From your campaign, click the text block to which you want to add personalization. Click the “Personalization Tags” option at the top of the designer. A modal window will appear. Use the ActiveCampaign DocuSign integration to sync envelope records from DocuSign to ActiveCampaign. Doing so lets you create and update contacts based on DocuSign actions, view DocuSign activities on contact records, trigger automations based on DocuSign actions, and create drafts in DocuSign with automation. Take note In order to access this integration, you must have a DocuSign account plan that includes the Connect feature. These configurations are created and managed in DocuSign either via the eSignature System Administration application or via the eSignature REST API. Only the Business Pro and above plans are able to configure connect so additional cost may vary The integration setup takes place in your ActiveCampaign account This integration does not add contacts to a list in ActiveCampaign You must create all DocuSign fields and ActiveCampaign contact custom fields prior to setting up this integration You can only map existing DocuSign fields to existing contact fields in Act

In automations where a contact converts once they make a purchase, you may want to use a goal to move that contact to a different part of the automation. To create a goal that activates when a contact makes a purchase, use the condition “Last Order Date is Current date.” Our first instinct might be to use the condition “Has made a purchase.” However, this condition applies to any contact who has ever made a purchase — including contacts who have yet to enter the automation — and will result in contacts entering and immediately jumping to the goal. Consider that “Last Order Date is Current date” will also apply to any contact who made a purchase that day before triggering the automation. If this is a problem, consider adding more conditions to narrow the possibilities (like Product ID or Has made a purchase in a particular store) or creating a separate automation that adds a tag when a contact makes a purchase and uses that tag in place of Ecommerce conditions.
If you delete a “Wait” action while contacts are queued, those contacts will proceed to the next action in the automation. If it looks like the queued contacts have disappeared once the action is deleted, don’t panic! It can take a few minutes to process.
You can use the free “Webinar Reminder Series” automation recipe to create a webinar reminder automation. This recipe is in the “Create an Automation” modal on the Automations Overview page. Once you add the recipe to your account, you can customize it to best fit your needs. Take note This automation uses a “Subscribes to List” trigger and will send a reminder email 30 days, 2 weeks, 1 week, 1 day before, and day of the webinar date You can modify the trigger and timing of the reminder emails to whatever works best for you This automation will require you to have a custom date field that is populated with the webinar date You will need to create automated campaigns for each “Send Email” action in this workflow Add the “Webinar Reminder Series” automation to your account Click Automations on the left menu. Click the “Create an automation” button. Type “webinar” into the search field. Click “Webinar Reminder Series,” then click the “Continue” button. The automation builder will load.
Hi everyone, I’m looking for ways to use A.I. to optimize creating automations. I tried the A.I. builder, with disappointing outcomes, it hallucinates. I looked for an A.C. guide or whitepaper on A.I. use, I couldn’t find it. Yet I saw on A.C. homepage that it is is possible to use A.I. for content creation, ActiveCampaign | Artificial Intelligence Does any of you use A.I.? How? Thanks for sharing your tips and experience. Letizia
Is there a way to change a list of contacts and move their Master list status to “Bounced”? I see that I can use bulk edit or automations to move contacts to “Unsubscribed” status, but I do not see any way of moving them to Bounced status. Any help appreciated! Thanks!
We created a re-engagement automation recipe to attempt to re-gain business from customers that fell out of the pipeline. Through this campaign, we were able to track user engagement through tags, while also being able to re-engage past customers. We decided to structure the recipe with multiple “if/else” conditions to restructure the cadence of email sends based off of user engagement. The if/else conditions used where “if the user clicked within 30 days”. We leveraged this condition to ensure we weren’t being overbearing with our content sends. This method significantly reduced the amount of unsubscribes we received. Creating an automation to re-engage customer is a low lift, but effective way to streamline workflows to regain business.
We use ActiveCampaign to engage new customers through an onboarding email sequence. Our users have to be manually entered into the system which makes our process a little different. First, we import new contacts. I created Custom Fields for customers and fill those in when importing. These include things like customer ID, customer sales contact, and which automation sequence to start them in. After they are imported, the automation checks for the Custom Fields that have been entered. If “yes” is by the name of the automation, it enters them into the automation. I then added a Wait Until Conditions Are Met to make sure the email does not go until the following business day and only between certain hours. We have a different email sequence for several different industries, so the automation checks for Tags on the email sequence. For example, the condition, “Does the contact match the following conditions - Site registration is advertising” will send the contact down an advertising email
When it comes to marketing our real estate portfolio at Perth New Homes, we had a unique challenge. We needed a personalized way to manage our customer relationships and effectively communicate the value proposition of our portfolio to potential homeowners. ActiveCampaign came as a perfect tool to help us streamline our operations and significantly boost our leads. We faced profound challenges contacting and tracking leads. Some of these issues were converting cold leads into warm leads, understanding clients’ needs, and sending personalized follow-up messages. There was an evident need for a system that would help us nurture our leads by knowing when and how to reach out, keeping track of each one’s conversation, interests, and needs. We turned to ActiveCampaign to combat this exact problem. ActiveCampaign’s CRM features turned out to be a game-changer for our business. Its automation feature allowed us to send out targeted and personalized follow-ups. We were able to track and stay o
We are a lean team without a designated marketing team. We were either not able to keep up with client reach out or were spending a lot of time designated towards. Therefore, it was never consistent and unfortunately could not always be a priority. We build customer lists based on what services they received at our wellness centers. Once they are the main list, we were able to maintain customer engagement through multiple reach outs without needing to come back into the system to change anything. Once we convert that customer to a member, they get placed into a new group to ensure they receive special, VIP emails to encourage them to come in and spread the word about our facilities. Select a automated campaign type. Then we decided to skip the trigger at the time. Select an email. Send a secondary email 1 week later, another 1 month later, then 3 months later. WIth all of this, we were able to get the clients important information and easy access to remind them to make an appointment w
Here’s a screenflow of an automation I created to manage weekly check-in’s with multiple clients. Before doing this, I had to manually remember to send out multiple emails, remembering who’d replied, and who hadn’t - a very time intensive task. Here’s a runthrough of the automation: Clients are automatically added when signing up for a specified product with weekly contact. An email is sent out on a specified day and time, reminders can be added if no response/email open is recorded within timeframes, and multiple branches can be created for other staff members. This automation has saved me hours of weekly repetitive tasks. Any questions, feel free to ask.
I have an online yoga membership and I also sell online courses. When a new user creates an account in my membership platform, either as a paying member with a 7-day free trial, a paying customer for a course, or a lead, I need to make sure I communicate the features and benefits of the relevant product to make sure that they get the most out of their experience for retention (paid members) or conversion (leads). The communications need to be tailored depending on the purchase type/lead which adds complexity. This is where Active Campaigns ability to filter through fields and tags in “if/when” clauses comes in really handy! When someone creates an account within my membership platform (hosted by Uscreen) either as a lead or a customer, I use Zapier to zap the contact over to Active Campaign. I assign a ‘paid’ tag through zapier if they are a paying customer which then triggers the paid welcome series within Active Campaign. I then need to tailor the comms further because of the differe
