Why I can't use Site Messages?

I'm on the Pro plan. Site Tracking is enabled and I whitelisted my domain. When clicking on a contact, I can see that webpage visits are indeed correctly tracked. Site Tracking and whitelisting are the prerequisites to use Site messages.

However, when I open the ‘Sending’ tab in the ‘Add an action’ popup inside an automation, I don't see the ‘Send a site message’ option, which should be there, according to this article: https://help.activecampaign.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000062250-Create-site-messages-for-your-contacts

Does anyone knows why, and how I can resolve this?

Hi @mdijk, thanks for checking all of that. Your Site Tracking setup sounds correct, and this isn’t a Pro-plan limitation. Site Messages are currently being phased out, so the “Send a site message” action may no longer appear in the automation builder.

The help article you linked reflects the previous workflow, which is why it says the option should be available. Sorry for the confusion here.

If you’d like us to confirm what’s available on your specific account, please email help@activecampaign.com with your account URL and a screenshot of the Sending tab so the team can take a closer look.

I know it was there, but I can’t find it also. Looks like it is not available in Plus anymore?? @sschafer you know more?

Hello! Site Messages are still available on Plus. The current automation-action matrix shows “Send a site message” included in Plus, Professional, and Enterprise.

You won’t necessarily find Site Messages as a separate left-menu item. To access it:

  1. Go to Automations.
  2. Open or create an automation.
  3. Add an action under Sending.
  4. Select Send a site message.

You also need Site Tracking enabled, with your website domain whitelisted and the tracking code installed.

If the action is missing despite having Plus, check:

  • You’re using the correct account/workspace and the user has sufficient permissions.
  • Your plan is truly Plus, rather than Starter or an older/legacy plan mapping.
  • Site Tracking is enabled under Website → Site Tracking.
  • Try refreshing or signing out and back in.

If it is not working, open a ticket sending an email to help@activecampaign.com and our support team will be happy to take a look
