I am trying to add a recently recorded youtube live link to an email but it keeps saying the link is invalid. What the workaround for this?

Hi There!

Sometimes, ActiveCampaign can be picky about how links are formatted, especially with YouTube live stream links. Here are a few things you can try to get it working:

  1. Check the YouTube Link Format: Make sure you’re copying the exact URL for the YouTube live stream. It should look something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIDEO_ID. Double-check that there are no extra spaces or characters in the URL that might be causing the issue.
  2. Use a Thumbnail Link: If the issue persists with the live link, you can try embedding a YouTube thumbnail as an image and linking it to your YouTube live stream. Here’s how:
  • Find the YouTube video thumbnail (you can usually right-click on the video and copy the image address).
  • Insert the image into your email, and then hyperlink it to your YouTube live stream URL. This creates a clickable thumbnail that will take recipients directly to your live stream.
  1. Shorten the URL: Sometimes, long URLs can cause issues. You could try using a URL shortener (like Bit.ly) to make the link shorter and see if that helps.
  2. Test with Other Links: It’s worth testing with a different YouTube video or a different type of link (like a normal YouTube video URL) to see if the problem is specifically with the live stream link or if it’s a broader issue with how ActiveCampaign is handling links.

If none of these workarounds solve the issue, it may just be a bug that I can flag it to our product team!
