How to report on lost deals

With the Deal Overview report, you can view the performance of your sales team over time. This report will show all deals created, marked as Won, and marked as Lost by you and your Deal Owners.

There are two ways to access the Deal Overview report:

1. The first way is to click “Reports” on the left menu. Then click “Deals”> “Deal Overview.”
2. The second way is to click “Deals” on the left menu, then click “Deal Overview.”

The Statistics Dashboard is located toward the top of your page under the report filters:

This dashboard will load values associated with Deals created, Deals Won, and Deals Lost. (These values displayed are dependent upon the filters selected.)

You can also view the information on this dashboard by clicking any of the radio buttons located to the left of the Statistics dashboard:

• Total number: Will display the total number of deals created, Won, and Lost
• Total $: Total value of the deals created, Won, and Lost
• Avg $: Average value of the deals created, Won, and Lost

I have the same question and feel like this still doesn’t quite get the info we are looking for. I’ve tried using tags and tasks to capture this - but then found there are no reports that pull that data in a clear way.

Hi @figureplant76916 - thanks for following up! If you’d like to track more custom information, like a reason why a deal was marked as lost, I’d recommend creating a custom deal dropdown or checkbox field you can update the reason(s) and export it for external reporting and more insight. If your plan includes Custom Reports or you have the add-on feature, you could also use that data format to create a custom report of lost deals and the reasons they were marked lost in that field. Other popular external reporting platforms, like Power BI, would also allow for this type of reporting. If you are using tags, I’d recommend applying the tag you’d like to review as a filter in your pipeline, and reviewing/exporting the lost deals from there.
