Hi there,
I am starting to suspect there’s now way in Active Campaign to find out WHO created a given contact or account.
- It is not in the APIs
- It is not in the webhook notifications
- It is not in the frontend
- It is not in the automation triggers
Do you guys see this too? I find it hard to believe they forgot to include such a vital information…
Thanks,
Luca

If you also think that a “Created by” field is needed in a CRM in 2022… please upvote the feature request! > https://ideas.activecampaign.com/ideas/AC-I-21694

“Who created this contact” has different meanings:
-
If the contact is coming from your system to the AC API, the “creator” is “your system.” Custom fields and custom objects can easily be written to track that data, if you wanted to, but sending the “creator” is on you to implement.
-
If the contact is coming through a form on a website, it’s technically illegal for anyone other than the owner of the email address itself to be the person submitting it. This is where double-opt-in comes into play- confirming that the owner of the email wants to be on the list. ie: if the Contact is created via a webform, the “creator” is “the Contact themselves.”
I don’t know if when you say “Account” you mean "created users who have access to your .activehosted.com
account, the “creator” will always be the system admin.
