What happend if I modify current automation

Hi

I’ve my first automation and I’ve a question.

My automation is simple: after suscription, wait 1 day and send a email.

Automation is working and I’ve suscriptors in the queue and I’ve other suscriptors who completed the automation.

My question. If I modify the automation and I add a “wait until a date” and “start another automation”. I understand that for suscriptor in the queue is Ok but What happends to suscriptors who completed the automation?

Hi

If you know that you are going to continue to build your automation, just make the last step Wait 100 days. Then when you go back and add more steps in you can change this step and the automation will continue.

For those that have already been through the process, you could build a new automation that continues from the old one and manually (you can do this in bulk) add them to the new automation.

In the spirit of providing insight on this question, if you want to make edits to a current ACTIVE automation, we recommend you make your automation INACTIVE first > make all edits > put the automation ACTIVE again (information from this article) - so that all changes are applied at once and contacts don’t skip on any actions.
