Unsubscribe from a topic

How do I make it technically possible for me to include at the bottom of an AC campaign that you can only unsubscribe for a specific topic? For example, if I send an email about a new podcast episode and someone has subscribed to the podcast on Spotify and doesn’t want any extra information about it.

You can either use a separate list for the specific topic, or you can add a tag to show they have subscribed/unsubscribed to a specific topic.

I asked support about this and got a link to an incredibly complicated way of doing it through automations that is simply ridiculous. It should be easier. But again, AC doesn’t seem to be interested in basic functionality that would be actually useful for large numbers of people, instead focusing on features for enterprise that they can charge $$$$ for while making things more difficult and less intuitive for us “regular” users.

Here from Emailpref: An easy way to create a Preference Center!

We are an ActiveCampaign App Partner and we solve this in a very easy way. On our platform, you can create an unsubscribe link for a specific list and also a preference center allowing your users to choose what information they would like to receive.

I just attended one of those a/c training sessions, and asked the same question. The facilitator taught me about “link actions” within the email (campaign/automation) builder. You can add a link that says, “take a break” or whatever. And then under link actions, choose end automation. So they’ll stop receiving emails from that automation. There might also be a link action where you can stop them from receiving emails related to specific tags. Not sure about that one, and also haven’t tried it myself.
