Understanding Funnel Report

Hello, i’m wondering on how to read Funnel Report, it little bit confusing with my test pipeline.
you can see my repot here:

it’s been confusing while i have 5 deal but all of them get remark 100% progressed to next stage…

Hey Viktor @indomailerpro_admin ,

Those funnel reports are a bit confusing. The number inside the bar is showing you how many deals are currently active in that stage.

The percentage number on the line between the deals is showing you how many people progress from one stage to the next.

If you don’t mark a deal as “lost” and instead keep them active in the stage forever, the percentage will always show as 100% since there is no drop off.

I admit, this isn’t very intuitive and we are currently working on how we can improve this view. No timeline on that yet I am afraid.

this is where i get confuse because all deal stay on the same stage… ada we able to to move forward and backward on each stage… how’s the the report would be…

in that screen shot… i have “To Contact” , “In Contact”, and “Follow Up”
the number 100% progressed from “To Contact” to “In Contact” should leave the “To Contact” with zero deal, right ? because it already progressed (moved)

Another is from “In Contact” to “Follow Up” … it shown "100% progress to next stage (1 deals)… but Follow Up has zero deal and “In Contact” have 2 deal… so what’s the number 1 came from ?

Hope you understand my confussion and be able to clarify… my objective this week is to understand activecampaign completely…

Hi Victor,

I think the confusion comes because that number is not indicating movements between stages, it is indicating how many deals “dropped off” at that stage. Drop off would be defined as how many deals were marked as Lost at each stage.

So, if you had 10 deals in Stage 1 and one deal was marked as lost, the number between Stage 1 and Stage 2 would be 90%. It’s a percentage of Active deals versus Lost deals at each stage.

So far, because you haven’t marked any deal as lost, all stages are showing 100% active. Mark one as lost and let us know how the report changes.

At this moment i create 8 deals… i move it back and forth between stages… and here’s the latest funnel report:

i have total of 8 deals… but the stats shows like total of 13 deal…

Well… it’s a minor bug and initially i hope it can be use for appraisal my sales team… for suggestion, hope in the future it can tells:

  1. How’s the progres of the sales person. at this moment, the way i see it is not a funnel report, instead a visualization of the latest data.
  2. There will be comparison report between dates, so i can see how active and productive my sales team are

for current funnel report, it would be more intuitive if you give the number in percentage for each stage… for example among 8 deals… how many percentage in “To Contact”, “In Contact”, “Follow Up”…

Hope to see ActiveCampaign more CRM’ish…

Thanks

We’re aware that our Deals CRM reports could use some work and we’re actively developing them at the moment.

I’ve seen mockups and they are much more clear and informative. I think you’ll be happy with them.

Subscribe to our blog to be notified when that report is released.

That’s nice… you have good UX, my sales team love how easy it is compare to our current CRM that so complex. Hope the feature of report and monitoring for management team is also on your near schedule…

I am pretty sure that what this report is showing is movement between stages.

So, I don’t think it’s actually a bug, I think the report doesn’t do a good job explaining what it is indicating.

It’s not showing how many open deals you have, it’s showing how many deals have moved between those stages.

4 years later and I have the same problem, and nothing has been changed/updated on this report.
