Subscribing Twice Help

I have an automation thats only purpose is to send a single email to that Subscriber.

After they subscribe the first time, can they Subscribe again, to get that email delivered to them again?

thanks!
Ben

Hi Ben (@intensia),

If a contact fills out a form twice with a different email they will be subscribed twice to the list and enter an automation if one is setup. However, if they fill out a form twice, but use the same email they will not be added to the list twice or the automation assuming you have the action options for form submission to only run once pictured below.

Let me know if you have any remaining questions and I would be more than happy to continue to assist.

Hi pleon,

Does that mean, if a someone subscribes twice with the same email address, “Runs” must be set to Multiple Times" to trigger the automation (and send the email again)?

thanks again!
Ben

Hi Ben (@intensia),

That’s correct!

Thanks a lot Perry!

Very much appreciate your time.

Hi there,

I am afraid this is not correct. This is correct for all action triggers but not for subscriptions to lists.

No I am wondering how you can make this possible.

Help would be much appreciated!

Thanks
Soren

Hi Soren (@strategicleadagency),

Runs multiple times applies to other start triggers such as “submits a form” or “tags.” So, you could use a different start trigger.

Hi pleon,

sure, I just don’t know how to use a form on clickfunnels instead of the subscription list.

My customers opt in this way to the list. Is there a way possible via form?

Hi Soren (@strategicleadagency),

You could move them to a different list when they subscribe and then set up an automation to remove them from the first list. It might also be worth checking with ClickFunnels to see how or if they have dealt with this in the past.

Hi pleon,

thanks a lot for your support.

Found a solution adding them to the list with tag and at the end of the process removing the tag so that they are still in my list.

The only issue that I have left now due to that is:
If activecampaign is connected to the form page it will always send out a confirmation if this form page is refreshed or again visited.
If activecampaign is connected to the confirmation/thank you page it will always send out a confirmation if this thank you page is refreshed or again visited.

Both would obviously make them believe they ordered twice and me also.

Any idea about that?

Thanks again for your support!

Hi Soren (@strategicleadagency),

Of course; my pleasure!

Did you try changing the start trigger? You can say if “Tag is added” or if “Tag is removed” send confirmation, etc.

I am having a similar issue of what mentioned by @intensia and @theexponential. I need an automation to send emails to subscribers every time they subscribe to a specific list - i.e. multiple times, not only once.

I understand that ‘Subscription to list’ cannot be triggered multiple times (notwithstanding the fact that the drop down menu allows to select that option ?!).

I tried to move subscribers to a different list when they subscribe, like suggested by @pleon, and then set up the automation to remove them from the first list, but for some reason at the end of the process the subscriber is still part of the first list and not the new one.

I tried then a different approach by triggering the automation when a tag is added instead of when user subscribes, then removing the tag during the automation - again the automation is executed, email sent, but tag is still there.

Does anyone have an idea on how to resolve this problem? It seems to me that this is a simple and possibly common scenario that should be easily supported.

Thanks!

I did further investigations and found out why both moving the Subscriber to a different list or adding / removing tags didn’t work for me. It looks like it’s a timing issue with the API integration with Thrive Leads. If the automation unsubscribes the user or removes a tag right after the automation is triggered by Thrive Leads, the API integration re-subscribes or re-add the tag. I resolved the issue by adding a 5 minutes timer, then applying the change. Sharing this in case it might be useful to others.
