Site message for anonymous visitors

I plan to give a site message to anonymous visitors but it is not working. Every anonymous visitor should get this message.

If somebody visits SAMT AG | he should get a message depending on from what country he comes.

site message

Can you help, what I am doing wrong.

PS: I would use it to give country specific messages.

Hi @samt1,

It is not possible to give a site message to an anonymous visitor. An anonymous visitors information (email, name, and etc.) has not been captured yet. So, there is not a way to track, or make note of, the event occurring.

In order to give a site message to a visitor their contact information must be known in ActiveCampaign.

Hope this helps,

Perry

I understood something else from the product announcement (they even mention explicit that it is possible to message to unknown person and first time visitors).

For example “—anyone who visits a particular subdomain of our site will receive a site message…” see https://www.activecampaign.com/learn/guides/an-introduction-to-site-messages/ and other sources mention that anyone can receive site messages.

I finally learn from your reply that it is not possible to give a site message to unknown visitors and will add this as an idea to feedback and ideas as it would provide a big value and is very easy to implement just to bring a site message to everybody (like a conditional form).

Many thanks for your answer and help.

Hey @samt1,

Sorry, I can see why that language was confusing and thank you for bringing it to my attention! We are going to update that.

Thanks again,

Perry
