Segmentation limitations? What is the truth?

Hi there. If you look on the Active Campaign marketing website you see it states unlimited segmentation. However, the reality is our app is freezing at 4-5 criteria. We have worked with support on this numerous times and are told it’s how AC works or that our list is too big and it’s a performance issue.

What is the truth of what AC can actually handle when it comes to segmentation. We are trying to manage by tags more than lists but the lack of alphabetizing of the tags and lists combined with poor performance of AC and inability to segment more than 4-5 tags or other criteria makes it close to impossible to really use it as a tag based vs list automation engine.

Ideas? Are others running into this? What have you done to fix?

That could be a wording issue on our end. You can have/save unlimited segments, but the segments themselves do have limits (20 total conditions, 5 ACTION conditions).

Thanks so much for this. I was never informed of the actions limitations. Good to know. So basically this means we can not run or create a segment deeper than 4-5 tags?
