Hi there - I’ve configured AC with different users/groups so that certain users can only see contacts from certain lists. All I want the user to be able to do is see the list of contacts relevant to them and export that list (i.e. read only access plus export). Permissions are therefore set like this:
Problem is that when a user clicks through to one of the contacts there seems to be lots of things they can still do on a contact e.g. add tags, add tasks, add notes, create emails etc. They also seem to be able to create automations ?!?!?
Am I missing something here? Grateful for any help!
Right now, there is no kind of “read only” option for the Contacts view that would allow Export and nothing else. We’re going to take a look at these permission options because I can see why you’d think they wouldn’t be able to do those other things based on how you’ve set the permissions. You aren’t missing anything, it’s just not possible to do what you’re trying to do currently.
Okay. I’m not going mad then. I guess that’s a bonus
There really are some issues with the way permissions work in AC generally. I’d like to be able, for example, to use the deals feature but I can’t until there is some reliable way to make sure that one sales person can’t see any of the deals or contacts of another sales person. From discussions on this forum lots of other people seem to agree this is an important capability but still there’s no robust solution in AC as far as I can tell.
