Opt in button to go in our email signature and quotes

We’d like to create an “opt in” button which we can have on our sales email so when we email our guests (or potential guests) they can choose to opt in to our newsletter.

We also want to add an opt in button on our quotes using the same process.

Is this possible?

Hey @skifamille915!

Yes, you can add a button that will have a link action that adds the contact to the newsletter list. The link itself can direct back to your site, or to a generic thank you page. Here is a quick video that walks through the functionality:

Thanks!

Hi @mguse

We actually want it to be on our sales email address (a standard email through gmail rather than an active campaign email/newsletter). In our gmail signature we’d like to have a “click here to subscribe” hyperlinked option that subscribes them to our Active Campaign newsletters. Is there a way to do this?

The only thing I can think of is to create a form which says “Would you like to subscribe to our newsletter” with a “yes” and “no” option to tick. I’ll then hyperlink to this in the gmail email. The downside to this is:

  1. Ideally we’d like them to click on the “click here to subscribe” gmail text and then that literally subscribes them without having to fill in a form
  2. If they really did have to fill in a form, we’d ideally want to have their email already filled in without them having to type this in. I’m not sure if this is possible because at this point they haven’t signed up to our mailing list.

Thanks

That’s a good idea, please PM me if you figure this out.

Hi @mguse,

Sorry… not heard back so just wanted to check if you had seen my reply?

At the moment I have “click here to opt in” message in my day to day work email signature (gmail). If you click on that link it then takes the customer to a form to opt into our Active Campaign mailing list.

We’d ideally like this to automatically subscribes them (rather than taking them to a form where they have to input their details to opt in). Is this possible?

If it isn’t possible, we’d like it so their email address is already filled out for them. I know this is possible for people already in our database, but at this point, the person hasn’t subscribed so I’m not sure if we can have this field automatically filled in.

Finally, we plan on using this “sign up here” link in many places… eg my colleague’s personal work email accounts as well as a customer-facing general sales email. Also want to include this link on invoices and quotes we send out. So is there any way of tracking where new subscribers have come from so we know which links are doing better than others. Eg 10 people signed up to our newsletter from the link on the quote, 5 from an email signature and 20 from invoices once they’ve booked with us.

Thanks.

Hey @skifamille915!

The form will be the best way to do this, as they will need to fill it out to be formally opted in. Unfortunately, the personalized URL option will not work, as the system is unable to pull data from the custom field in ActiveCampaign. I’m not sure if there is another option available through Gmail, but it wouldn’t be available through us at this time.

For the different links, I would maybe use different forms that have tags. That way they can all be added to the same list, but you can use the tag to see where they came from, and which method is the most effective.

Thanks, and please let me know if you have any other questions!
