Hello, I’m new to this form business and slow at technology.
I’ve created a form to patients sign up for a free consultation. I don’t want the patient to think that they are subscribing to a list… Just sign up for a free consultation. I would like to create a different subscription form to which they would need to double opt in. It seems, as I read through some of the posts that this may create a double email/user subscriber entry. How can I keep both forms separate so only one is used for subscribing to a list, and the other to sign up for a free consultation? I hope this makes sense.
I thank you in advance.
Great question! With ActiveCampaign it’s possible to create forms not only to subscribe to a list but other actions such as adding a tag or creating a deal for a contact. For your specific strategy, as you mentioned it would be a great idea to create two separated forms such as:
- “Free Consultation” form with a “add a tag” action. With this form action, once a contact submits their information, they will be added to the account with a tag (For example “Free Consultation Request” tag) that you can use to trigger automations, segment, and filter them later or when needed. That way, they will be added to the account without signing up to a list, but you can find it based on the tag.
- “Subscribe to our list” form, with a “subscribe to a list” action. On this one, you will have the option to double or single confirmation, and also edit our template or create your own design for the opt-in email that will be automatically sent once they submit the form.
- That being said, you can have both forms integrated into your website and clients can decide if they only want a free consultation, subscribe to a list, or both. In case they submit both forms with the same email, ActiveCampaign will not create duplicate contacts but only update their information on the same profile. Easy and organized!

Here’s a great resource about forms: Forms – ActiveCampaign Help Center
I hope this helps!
