Monthly Reminder Email

Howdy everyone

I searched help and could not find the answer to this. I want to set up an automation exclusive to my clients that automatically sends on the same date each month with the same content. For example, on the 27th of each month, all people on my client list get the email.

I have used ScheduleOnce as my scheduling portal for a very long time, its fantastic, but I find I am having to constantly remind them to schedule next month’s coaching calls. The bigger I get, the more labor intensive this gets, thus the desire to automate it.

Seems simple enough. Is this possible within Active Campaign?

Thanks!
Bob

Hey Bob!

I think what we can do in this case is set up an automation that constantly cycles through to resend the email on the proper date. The set up would go a bit like this:

  • Set the start trigger as “Subscribes to List” (you can also add existing clients into this automation through the Edit option on the contact page)
  • Add an action
  • Add a Wait step, and choose “wait until specific conditions are met”
  • Select the Date & Time condition, and then choose “Current day of the month > is >27”
  • Add an action
  • Add your reminder email
  • Add an action
  • Choose Wait for one day (in order for the date to pass the 27th so that the emails don’t send immediately)
  • Add an action
  • Select Go To action, and drag it up to the first wait step

This will allow the automation to cycle and repeat, waiting until the 27th, sending the email, waiting a day, and then going back to the top.

If you’d like to chat about this on a call too, feel free to book a one-on-one session with our Customer Success team here.

Thanks, and please let us know if you have any questions!

Thanks, Megan- I’ll give it a whirl

Dear Megan,

Thx for the explanation. I want to use this for a monthly coaching as well and I am wondering if I can combine it with the automation for the purchase confirmation as described below:

Automation start: Tag added after purchase

Tag triggers:
a) subscribe to a List
b) sends e-mail to user (purchase confirmation)

After this I built in your logic above:

  1. add action: wait until 27
  2. add action: send e-mail (monthly reminder for coaching)
  3. add action: wait for 1 day
  4. add action: go to another action --> dragged it to the 1.

QUESTION: Will this work as I intend it to:
Each new user receives automatically (only once) the purchase confirmation and then every month on the 28th the e-mail reminder. Existing users will receive every month the e-mail reminder.

Or do I need to make two separate automations from it?

Thx for helping! Regards
Dagmar

Hi @vamos-coach!

I would create this as two separate automations, just to keep your tracking clean. That way you’ll be able to consistently track who is in which automation.

Thanks, and please let us know if you have any questions!

I am curious regarding this. If the list subscription is the trigger, BUT people are subscribed to multiple lists how will the basic unsubscribe work? Will they as indicated here: https://www.activecampaign.com/learn/guides/managing-unsubscribes

Be unsubscribed from ALL lists or just the one that was the trigger? I have people in multiple lists but want to create a new one for a specific “monthly reminder” but only want them to unsubscribe from that one based on this automation.

Can the day of the month be a field, and then be used on the automation? Each customer has a different day based on their purchase date. This is to remember them to buy the monthly product on the same day of the month they made the purchase. Thanks.
