Migrating app from basic auth to OAuth

Hi,

We have an app on the marketplace for some time now and we have decided to update the app to use OAuth. My question is regarding how the switch from basic auth to OAuth will effect end users?
Will their experience be that it auto updates and their automations simply fail until they re-authorise the connection for each automation? Would they have to choose to update the app then it might break the existing ones? Or, would new automations simply have a choice of the new version next to the old one?

Based on the answer I was wondering if it would be better to update the existing app to use OAuth, or to make a second version of it to avoid these kinds of issues?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

@bulksmscom1603138646 An auth change is a breaking change to an app and will cause things to stop working including the app connection and automations. The ActiveCampaign recommendation would be to create a brand new version of the app and work with existing users to migrate gracefully from the old to the new version.
