Merge custom field to "organization" field

Hello AC community,

I was wondering: I have a custom field “Company name” which is filled out for more than 8000 contacts…Information from my custom field is basically what should be written in “Organization” field. How do I do I merge the two? Or transfer what i have in “company field” to “organization” field.

Hi!

To fix this, export your contacts and then import them again. Map the Company name field to the Organization field and then click the checkmark that says to update existing contacts.

One more question: For example if i now create a new signup form and one of the fields one has to fill out is “organization” … Will this organization name display in the organizations list and on contact’s profile ? It is just a bit odd to me that org. field is not listed as one of the preset fields (accompanying name, surname, email, phone).

Can’t wait to see more features based on Organizations (org profile, tasks, deals, etc). :slight_smile:

Yes, if you place the Organization standard field onto your form and a contact fills it out, it will display on the contact record (aka profile) and the Organization list.
