I updated my custom template and thought all was right as rain. Then a few days later, when I was modifying an automation email I saw the footer from my template wasn’t synced. So, I checked my template. It was correct. GRRRRR.
So I checked the Feature requests and GUESS WHAT FEATURE IS REQUESTED!?!
Now, since I can’t select a new template design with an already created email, here is what I have to do to pull in the new changes:
Select the email text.
Return to the automation and click the step to Create NEW email.
Select the same template to pick up the changes.
Paste in my email.
Save and return to the automation.
Do this for the 15 or 20 times for each automated email I have.
GRRRRRRRRR
I’m really hoping Ted or someone else is going to say, “Chris, that feature is there but it’s hidden in a menu.” I’m not holding my breath. And did I mention my coffee tastes like crap - not your fault but it doesn’t help…
I’m sorry to hear about your coffee. Bitter? Weak? Just bad?
So, yes, grr.
It would make me the most happy to say “Hey @tigergreenproduction! That IS hidden in a menu, here is a lovely movie with my deep husky movie trailer quality voice commentating with subtle instrumental music playing in the background.”
Alas, I cannot.
However, I will say that utilizing our new saved content block feature will save your A LOT of time in this process. So, at this moment, this will be your best course of action.
If you link me to the feature request, I’ll do my best to promote & upvote it.
I’ve given it an upvote too @tigergreenproduction. It’s certainly a tedious activity. Also I’ll second @Ted suggestion of the Saved Content Block feature - it is a much needed step in the right direction for quickly inserting saved content blocks into emails.
Hi there, Amy from ActiveCampaign’s Customer Experience Team. We’re just refreshing our forum page and I wanted to add some help here for anyone who comes across this page/question/post.
Updating the template will not update/change the already in use campaigns (automated campaigns/scheduled campaigns) as the template is merely something that you create a campaign from. Once a campaign is created, it is a seperate entity and will need to be modified/adjusted in each campaign built from the template.
