So I have an else/if conditional in my marketing automation sequence and I want that if someone doesn’t click on a link in an e-mail, for me to send them the same reminder e-mail 5 times, with an interval for 3 days in between each e-mail. How would I draw this or build this using the automation builder?
Thanks.
I used the Go to feature and attached that to the action of sending the e-mail so it loops, but isn’t that an infinite loop? I want to loop it x times.
First off, I would not recommend sending the same reminder 5 times in a row no matter how much time is between sends. I would highly recommend changing the messaging of the campaigns. You can still achieve the same effect of reminding a potential customer/user to perform your desired outcome, but mixing up your copy and images will more likely have a positive outcome than sending the same thing to the same person 5 times in a row.
How do you plan to keep a person subscribed and engaged? Let’s brainstorm some topics to keep people engaged or come up with an alternate automation to send people if they don’t interact with this series of reminders!
Hi there, Amy from ActiveCampaign’s Customer Experience Team. We’re just refreshing our forum page and I wanted to add some help here for anyone who comes across this page/question/post.
It is important to note that sending the same reminder email to those who are not engaging isn’t necessarily going to help you obtain more engagement. You may want to send 1 or 2 reminder/follow up emails within a 1-2 day period and thereafter give them some time (possibly a week) to open your content. If they are still not engaging, it may be best to confirm deliverability isn’t being impacted (you can reach out to our Customer Experience Team or check directly with the contact in a 1:1 email) and if not, remove them from your lists.
To do this you’ll want the set up the following automation
Select any start trigger (tag is added, subscribes to a list, opens a campaign, clicks a link, visits a page - the choice is really up to you)
Send email 1 (if you want to send the campaign out at a particular time, you can add a wait step above this step to 'wait until time is 10:00 > the campaign will then send out between 10am-10:59am)
Add a wait step (exampel 1 day) > this gives your contacts a day to engage with the content. The contacts will wait 24 hours and pass through.
if/else statement with conditions 'has opened campaign ever OR has clicked on any link in this campaign ever)
If yes > the contacts will flow down the yes path. You can choose to apply a tag such as ‘engaged contact’ or send a secondary email to compliment the first email. Example: say the first email was a welcome email, the second email can be something cheeky like ‘I’m glad I have your attention’ or whatever you like.
If no > the contact will flow down the no path, where you can send a follow up email to the first email that compliments the first email such as ‘hey, sorry if you missed us but we wanted to say hello and welcome’ or whatever you like.
Wait step again > this time give them more time (exampel 2-3 days)
If else statement with conditions: has opened email 1 ever or has clicked any links in email 1 ever or has opened email 2 ever or has clicked on any links in email 2 ever)
If yes > follow point 5
If no > you can now decide if you want to possibly send a 1:1 email (you can do this from the automation) or if you simply want to tag them and label them as disenaged or if you want to try a final follow up as a ‘last chance’ engagement tactic.
