I wanted to email my list and send them the option to check out a new video I created. However, I wanted anyone who watched the video to be added to a new list automatically.
The solution:
Write a campaign and add a link to the content. Save it.
Set up a Automation with a trigger based on clicking an email link.
In the Trigger, find the saved campaign and choose the link.
Then add an automation step where they are added to the new list.
Activate the automation
Send the campaign.
It worked great. Now the the new list has exactly the people who were interested in the new content. What’s great is they don’t have to opt-in again to get access. I can also invite them to get on a new Autoresponder campaign in the future with this technique or do a 1-click webinar registration.
This is great, thanks!
Infusionsoft has a plugin that takes it to another level and tracks how far in the video was watched! Saw it on one of their demo videos…
Love this! We use the one click opt-in trick all the time for people already subscribed to our lists. It’s so good to not have to send them back to a form to fill in - especially when we’ve got all there details already!
Hey @mham you might be interestedin this thread here about video tracking. I’ve heard Dilogr can track how far someone watches a video - but never tested it out myself.
There’s actually a plugin with a low, one-time fee that will easily do this with YouTube, Wistia, and Vimeo videos so you can add people who actually watch the video.
But I’ve always had this issue. Just because people click a link in my email doesnt mean that they are interested in the content, really. Maybe they want more information about the promotion before they sign up.
It would be great if you can have a link that would bring them to a page, and then once they are on the page they can do a one-click signup using a button, not an opt-in form.
