Existing list but new automation, how to make the switch?

Newbie here. I have a form that feeds a list. The list has been used for “Automation A” for awhile now. I just created a brand new “Automation B” and want to stop using A. I still have active emails in A that I want to leave there so they can complete the automation.

Question: how do I activate Automation B while letting Automation A finish up?

What I would do is remove the trigger from automation A while automation B is active. In this way no new contacts are added to A, but it will finish with all contacts that are in there. Once those contacts reach the end of automation A, you can set it to ‘inactive’ or delete it.
