Exclusions - or black list

Hi!
Can anyone tell me how contacts get on the ‘exclusion list’.
And: is this the same as mentioned elsewhere the ‘black list’? I cannot find a black list in my system.

See, I would like to prevent people form accidently be added to the exclusion list, since when they opt-in again later on, they do not recieve any emails…

Thanks! Cindy

Hi Cindy (@diyarchitecten),

I think you will find this help doc. on exclusion list very helpful. Though, if it’s not what you were looking for feel free to reach back out and I will continue to work with you on this.

Hi Pleon,
Thanks - but this wasn’t what I was looking for.

Somehow people get moved to the exclusion list - and when they want to subscribe again, they can’t receive my emails anymore.
So I would like to understand on what conditions AC moves addresses to this list.

That would be very helpful!

Hi Cindy (@diyarchitecten),

There are a few ways a contact would make it onto the exclusion list apart from being added manually or via CSV import:

  1. Using the %UNSUBSCRIBELINK%&ALL link will also add the contact to the exclusion list.

  2. If a contact marks as spam (clicks the spam button in their inbox) this gets reported to us and the contact will get put on your exclusion list.

Hope this helps,

Perry

Hey Perry (@pleon),

we have a similar problem. A contact accidentally marked itself as spam, but we can not find the contact on the Exclusion List. But the contact would gladly continue to receive our mails. Any ideas?

Thank you in advance.

Sandra

Hi Sandra (@sandraholze),

Great question!

For that particular case you would need to submit a a ticket or email support for compliance to clear it for you. You would not be able to clear that on your own.

Cheers,

Perry

Hi all,

How can I restore some contacts from exclusion list to be able to add them to a new list? (These are not users who unsubscribed or marked as spam; they’re active users of our app I added to the exclusion list to keep them from receiving later invitations/lists to download the app, since they already have it.)

thank you.

Hey @myoptimity! There’s a delete button next to the contact record on the exclusion list. Additionally, you can delete them in bulk using the select feature. This article explains it.
