Event Tracking and GDPR

Hello,
in activecampaign blog there is an article about Site tracking and GDPR.

How about Event Tracking in activecampaign? Is there any restrictions in the use of EVENTs like the one in site tracking (a button and code to turn on the site tracking after consent)

Could anyone clarify this point?

best regards

Nuno

Anyone from activecampaign?

I would email AC about this but it would be great if you could post about it here. Event tracking probably falls within the GDPR because it uses cookies and since it uses an email to cross identify that might be considered “personal identifiable information”. There are a few cookie plugins and services out there that let you pick and chose what cookies a visitor can have on or turn off (or allow all etc) so something like that might be easier to handle ALL of your cookies which technically under GDPR now have to be transparent to EU visitors.

So like a Cookie Consent Management tool?
Do you have examples?

Hello,

I have done it today in WP.

You need to modify the snipped code cos tracking is enable per default. In the guidelines is described how to do it.

I still need to check if what I have done works or not.

I am using complianz for the cookies and I have integrate the snipped there. I will check later if it works and let you know.

Cheers
