Email Reply going to The Contact, instead of my address?

HI there,

I am planning to use “reply to this email” to confirm a contacts email, which will help with later emails going to primary inbox we think - jury out on that.

We also ask a great question in that email.
A couple of problems

  1. The “reply to email” is not our email address, so the email that is added automatically by Gmail is NOT our email (I thought you would use your IMAP connection to our inbox to look for replies)
  2. The reply to email didn’t even have a name, is a big slab of ugly text, not good UX.
    see screenshot https://goo.gl/JmsdKU
  3. The reply actually went to the contact!
    see same screenshot

So kinda defeats the purpose.

Thoughts?
How have others handled this? Manually confirming the email is another option we thought about.

Yes, I would be very interested to hear about other ideas too?

Hola Craig!

So, unfortunately, the ugly reply-to email address is the trade-off with using Reply Tracking. If you find it too bothersome, you could turn reply tracking off and manually confirm the email address when they reply. Your suggestion to use the IMAP inbox monitoring is a good one and I’ve submitted it to our internal idea tracking tool.

To streamline that manual workflow, I’d make sure you have our Chrome Extension installed.

Regarding number three… please contact support about that. That is not expected behavior and I’d like our team to investigate why that occurred.
