For some reason, anyone with a Yahoo account is not receiving email through my automations. I would love some help being pointed in the right direction to try and troubleshoot this. I’ve tried searching, but haven’t had much luck. At one point this happened with AOL email accounts, but those seem to work now. (Yahoo use to work ok.)
Just wanted to share some insight into Yahoo and deliverability. Yahoo does heavily throttle inbound mail and this manifests itself in messages sometimes delivering very late, sometimes hours late, which is essentially the same as not getting them at all.
This usually happens if you are a new ActiveCampaign user and still warming up your sending reputation with Yahoo, sharing IPs with other new ActiveCampaign users which are especially prone to Yahoo throttling. It also applies to Hotmail/Outlook. This can also happen if you have low open rates.
Whenever I see, “I’m having this problem too,” it indicates a larger systemic problem not being solved. “Contact support” is not an answer. It is a punt. Throttling may be closer to the answer but why use any service if all your emails are not going to be delivered?
And BTW throttling is just a brute force, inelegant way of “solving the problem.” Why does this not occur with other services with the same frequency?
Hello there! This Sebas from AC, I would like to add some insights here! Deliverability issues might happen for different reasons, such as list status, email provider or automation path that we can definitely take a closer look through our Customer experience team. That said, with the new verification updates from both Gmail and Yahoo, this shouldn’t be an issue as we are building a good sending reputation with time by using our own verified domains to send campaigns from. It is great to see how with time, this type of issues help us to growth and increase our deliverability to get the most out of ActiveCampaign!
