Dealing with Product Returns and Canceling an Automation

On the rare occasion, I have to issue a product refund to a client and when these people are in a product-specific automation, I want to end that automation. The below is my only idea:

  1. Manually add Product Refund tag such as “PD-ProductA-Refund.”
  2. Add if/then statements throughout that product’s automation that says if PD-ProductA-Refund exists then end automation.

Anyone do it differently?

Hi!

I think an easier way to do this is to have “Tag is added” as the triggering condition for a separate automation then have the first action be “End other automation.”

Hi there, Amy from ActiveCampaign’s Customer Experience Team. We’re just refreshing our forum page and I wanted to add some help here for anyone who comes across this page/question/post.

You definitely can use the above methods or you could set up a goal step in the same automation and have the contact ‘end automation’ when the tag is applied.

Here is a screenshot of the goal setup: Amy 2024-04-23 at 13.37.24
