Contact Score - Only Dynamic Values

I’m using the Contact Score mostly in a dynamic way to monitor the engagement with contacts. However, when you create a Contact Score, you need to define a rule and based on that rule, the contact will get its first score. In case you enter zero points for this rule, it will be adjusted to 10 points - no idea why this is.

How to a define a contact score that only gets scores within automations by measure actions?

Thanks for posting your question in the Community. As of now, a score of 1 or higher must be set in the contact scoring rules in order to track that the contact met the rule conditions at some point. There is usually an error that appears when trying to enter 0 as a score but it can sometimes show it save but it will automatically revert to 10 by default.

We recommend setting a score of 1 for the initial rule so they have some value in that field and then use the automations as you have been to make adjustments moving forward. I also encourage you to submit your request for the ability to use a 0 starting score on rules at ideas.activecampaign.com as I could see how this could be helpful for certain approaches to contact scoring!
