Once I’ve finished testing one of my Marketing Automations in AC I cannot delete the report data. The report data is then obviously clouded by the test data once I start using the automations with real contacts.
The only solution I have found is to copy the automations and delete the ones I used for testing. However, this leaves a massive margin for error, especially when using multiple automations in conjunction with one another. Mainly because all the start triggers/emails and automation links need to be reset manually. Invariably I then need to run more tests on the automations to make sure they are working correctly so I end up back at square one with cloudy automation report data.
Is there a way to delete the automation report data? Or are other people having the same issue?
Hi @freybors, good question! I’ve asked our internal team about this and should have an update for you shortly. Thank you for your patience!
Following up – The best way to get rid of test data would be to duplicate the automations and use one as a testing automation and one for production. That way the data stays separated. I hope this helps!
This is still not ideal. I have already tried duplicating the test automation as mentioned in my post. The fact is, we would always need to test the automation we’re going to use as we can’t risk it not working. So there will always be junk data in the automation unless Active Campaign develops a way to reset the data in the automation.
Please can you put this forward as a feature request?
Hi @freybors, you can submit a feature request here: https://bit.ly/34pf81m. Our Product team frequently reviews these requests and prioritizes them based on how many upvotes they have, so please share it with the AC Community once you submit it!
