Best way to "pause" an automation for a few days!

Hi all,

FIRST QUESTION:
I have an automation with 15 mails in a row with 2 days break between mails.
Next week will be Easter (in Romania) and I would like to send NO mails in that period (5 days) break.

Is making the automation inactive the best solution?
When I will make the automation active back again will it continue to send all the mails from where was left?

SECOND QUESTION
People going through this automation are going to be invited to an event. Suppose you got mail number 3 and the event will be tomorrow. How shall I solve this issue? Shall I put an IF condition before each mail and check the date so that I can “stop” the automation and give them the mail reminder with the event. Is there any other easier solution?

Thank you in advance,
Andrei

Probably the easiest! When things get more complex there are more complex ways to plan for a change like that, but I say keep it simple. Yes the automation will start back up once it is made active again.

Goals!

Add a goal action to the bottom of your automation with a “Jump” action. Set the Jump action condition to check the date (could be day of, or a few days before, etc). All contacts in the automation that match the condition will automatically “skip” down to the goal action and continue on! Goals are awesome!
