I don’t have the answer, but I’ve been looking for a way to find the contact ID by the email address for reference in the API code, so maybe someone will have an answer that works for both of us. If I find my answer, I’ll pass it along.
you might want to start a separate thread for this question about the contact ID; but I can tell you that I’ve used the contact ID and the API together before. The key you’re looking for is “subscriberid” and it’s available in the contact_x set of functions.
