can I use custom values to the utms?

A UTM parameter is a customizable tag that is added to a destination URL. Unsure what you are trying to achieve here, but utm_source would equal the source in which the recipient would receive the communication.
This does work. But then make sure to untick the “Google Analytics tracking” checkbox. Otherwise AC will add another set of utm tags to each URL automatically. Also, it’s advised not to send any personal info (like %FIRSTNAME% in your example) in URLs as they can be intercepted.
