First of all, sorry because my English isn’t very good
This morning I noticed this message:
The Openings / Readings tracking is only performed when your contacts select the “Show Images” option in the email, or click on the links.
I’m wondering how the system tracks the openings and readins if the message has no images.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to track opens for emails that are plain text.
We track opens on all html-based campaigns (emails created using the drag-and-drop designer or your own custom code) by embedding an invisible, 1-pixel image in your campaign. When a contact opens your email and chooses to display the images in your email, that graphic is downloaded from our server and it’s recorded as an open.
Let me know if you have any follow-up questions about this,
Biannca here from our CX team. I wanted to add on top of Perry’s message (for anyone that comes across this post) - we have more information on the open tracking in this guide.
Please don’t hesitate to reply back out or email us at help@activecampaign.com if you have any further questions.
