Anyone know how I can identify potential duplicates in Active Campaign ? For instance, a client who may have registered with both their work and private email addresses ? At present I have to wait for the client to notify me but I’d like to be able to identify these and merge them before marketing campaigns are sent to minimise email traffic.
Hey Shelley! Sorry we missed this when it was originally published, but in the spirit of providing insight on this question, I’ll be happy to take a look!
When it comes to duplicate contacts, although there isn’t a direct way to identify potential duplicate contacts within your account, there are a few alternatives you can implement to better organized those contacts:
-
If you notice that there are more contacts in an automation than expected, there is a chance that the same group of contacts was added twice to your automation. To remove them, you can implement a goal action to ensures that the contacts begin back at their correct position where they were removed from rather than back at the beginning of the automation. HERE is detailed article in regards for extra details.
-
On the other hand, if you identify two contacts with different email addresses but the same name or referring to the same contacts, then you can simply merge them directly from your contact’s section. You’ll see this option by locating the contact you wish to merge and then Clicking the dropdown next to the “Send a Campaign” button. Fell free to also check our how to article.
Please keep us posted if anything comes up along the way!
