As a marketer, youâre juggling countless tasksâŚ
And while AI can help save time and boost impact, managing multiple campaigns and assets still requires organization and management. (Especially to stay sane! )
Thatâs where labels come in.
By tagging your campaigns, forms and automations, you can keep everything neatly organized and make sure the right message lands in front of the right audience at just the right time.
No more scrambling to find âthat one emailâ or which automation youâve used for a specific marketing campaign.
Weâre going to show you how to keep everything running smoothly, so you can focus on strategic initiatives.
First, letâs define what a label is inside of ActiveCampaign.
Labels are keywords you can apply to your campaigns, forms and automations to group relevant assets. They are flexible, and you can add multiple labels to a single campaign, form or automation.
In addition to adding them campaigns, automations, and forms, you can:
- Use labels to filter reports
- Apply labels to campaigns and automations used with the Salesforce integration
- Apply labels to campaigns and automations used with the Microsoft Dynamics 365 integration
We recommend creating labels for specific topics, audiences, purposes, or larger initiatives, although you can experiment and use them however youâd like.
You can create new labels from the Label Manager and the overview pages for Campaigns, Forms, and Automations.
To create a new label for a single campaign, form or automation, follow these steps:
-
Select Campaigns, Forms or Automations on the left menu (depending on where you want to create a label.
-
Locate the campaign, form or automation that should receive a net new label, then click âAdd label +.â
-
A small modal window will appear. Click the âCreate labelâ button.
-
A modal window will appear where you can create a new label:

- Select a color
- Click the âCreateâ button
The new label will appear below the campaign, form or automation name.
Once a label is created, you can apply the label to any asset (campaign, form, and/or automation) to group them together.
Note: This is available to Plus, Pro, and Enterprise.
To locate the Label Manager, click âSettingsâ (gear icon), then click Labels on the side menu.
If you created labels in the past, they will be listed on the Labels Management page.
If you havenât created any new labels, you will see information about labels and a button to create one.
In addition to the label names, the label management page includes label colors and the number of times that label has been applied to a campaign, automation, or form.
Clicking any of these numbers provides direct links to the campaigns, automations, forms, and landing pages that use that label.
Now itâs your turn!
