Creating attachments for saved responses

Similar to another question I had, can you add attachments for saved responses? I want to add a PDF to the saved response to fulfill requests for literature.

Hi again Ian! No, you can’t add attachments directly to saved responses either - they’re text-only snippets.

For literature fulfillment, I’d definitely recommend email templates with attachments or hosted PDF links rather than trying to use saved responses. Much more manageable!

Thanks Alanna, how do you use an email template in a 1:1 email exchange? The scenario is that the potential customer requests a brochure so we want to be able to quickly send them an informative email with our brochure attached.

Hi Ian! You can definitely set something up for quick brochure responses!

First you’ll want to actually create the template:

  1. Go to your email templates and create a new template specifically for brochure requests
  2. Write your informative content and attach your brochure PDF
  3. Save it with a clear name like “Brochure Request Response”

Then when someone requests a brochure:

  1. Go to their contact record and click “Email”
  2. In the email composer, look for “Templates”
  3. Select your brochure template - it will load with the content and attachment
  4. Personalize if needed and send!

You can also accomplish this by creating a “Saved Response” instead of a full template. Saved responses are quicker to access and perfect for common requests like brochure sends.

Hi Alanna,
If I click on the “email” button in contacts the editor I am presented with does not include the option to insert a template. It looks the same as the editor I have when I click on send an email from a deal. Is it because of the subscription level maybe? I tried to insert an image of my email editor but it failed here.
The work around I have implemented is to make a new field inside the deal that is “Send Brochure” - It has a dropdown, from the drop down I can select the brochure I want to send. If I am in the a certain “stage” in CRM the automation will fire and a brochure template email will be sent to the contact. - It is not ideal but it works for now. Can you suggest a way to achieve this from the email editor?
