Longer (or Tailorable) Character Limits on Text Area Fields

I know there was a post a while back about limiting text fields on forms, but I have the opposite issue. We use forms as a way for intake specialists to enter information simply into the CRM during intake calls with prospective clients (via phone and chat). In the legal field, sometimes the background can be long and the ability to expand the limit would be incredibly useful. If not, at least a warning that pops up saying it’s too much text would be great so I don’t have to hunt down the issue when a form doesn’t submit.
